Rolled Jeans vs. Combat Boots

I've had a very packed day full of mothers and a huge women's breakfast at my church and buying a new tv with my dad and mothers day presents with B and a nice big family dinner. But something has been on my mind all day.

How do you wear combat boots with rolled jeans?!!??!?!?!

Does anyone even do this? Does it look stupid? Is there enough space in between the top of the boot and the bottom of the jeans? How do you make your boots loose enough to be trendy but not too loose that it falls off? DOES IT WORK?!!?!?!?

This morning I was in a GirlBoss mood (it's a show on Netflix about the founding of the clothing line Nasty Gal- it's amazing, go watch it. the main girl really annoys me because she's a major brat but that's a different post entirely- anyway) and so I decided to cut up my old Aeropostale into a DIY choker shirt cause honestly what else do you do with an Aeropostale shirt... and threw on a leather jacket, gave myself a middle part and put on my favorite MAC lipstick (Whirl, duh.) and was ready to go to church to celebrate Mother's Day with a big breakfast that the men of our congregation make them.

( and I know what you're thinking- so dark, so much leather, soooooo extra for a church event but its my aesthetic. and I realized that as I was unpacking all of my clothes that I brought home from school. But my moms friends said that I looked cute and 'edgy' and if that's not the approval that I'm looking for in life, IDK what is. )

BUT back to the point. So with this outfit, I wore my blue vans which didn't work that well with my outfit. And so B texts me and we're about to go shopping but I start having a shoe crisis because none of my shoes go good with my pretty great outfit. Then I had the idea to wear my combat boots with outfit cause it would tie the leather jacket with the rest of everything and just complete it. but then it looked really dumb. like really really dumb. Because I'm the type that keeps my boots tight and completely tied, so I tried loosening it or rolling it or something. Eventually me, my mom and grandma (yes- I had to involve them. every shoe crisis needs more than one opinion) googled pictures and people looked pretty cool. So we decided that I could too. We loosened them to the best of our abilities and rolled my jeans one more time and I left for the mall! I had previously informed B on my shoe crisis which made me arrive 10 minutes late to pick her up.... and she didn't say a word about them. So in my opinion, that's a win because she would've been the first one to say "Olivia! WHAT are you wearing on your feet?! It doesn't match!" lol

Well, I'm off to my family's dinner at a fun new Italian restaurant for our fake Mother's Day with my brother. That's been a little look on what goes on in my brain every day and why I'm sometimes late. Honestly, I would love anyone and everyones input on this rolled jeans vs combat boot debacle that I'm having with myself.

xx. 💋
